Shelby
An adventurous griffin, born from an attempt to save the world. She loves her friends the most, though not many can keep up with her enthusiasm.
Story
Once the rebellion found out that the Mother planned on bringing a griffing to life again they decided to counter her attack by doing the same. Griffins were suspected to be higher beings which could crumble to hierachy system but create a new one in exchange in which everyone bows down to the griffin. But the rebellion fights for a system in which everyone meets one another on eye height, even the higher beings. And so, on the day when the Halley's Comet passed earth and the Mother gave up her life with leonard van Löwenherz to summon the Griffin so did Maria IV Archangel and Leon van Löwenherz. With that Shelby came to life.
Shelby started off her life by first tripping multiple times, learning to fly and getting to know the rebellion. She quickly found joy in Amber and quickly became friends with Unn. There was one member though who always looked at her with spite. She was told that those who sacrificed themself to create her were those closest to him, which is why he always feels miserable around her and in general depressed. But even under these conditions she tried her best to befriend the one who despised her.
She once decided to snuggle onto Paul while he slept, as he was shivering of the cold and she thought that her thick fur could keep him warm. Through this they found out that she can make Paulus reach out to Maria's and Leon's souls just by letting him rest on her. This quickly lead to a very unhealthy behaviour of Paul, as he started to sleep through the days next to her in order to escape reality. One day though Maria and Leon put their foot down in the dreams and told Paul that they will no longer endorse in that. They tell him he should move forward and stop looking back. Of course Paul didn't take that in well at first, though saw reason in it. With a lot of pain and sorrow he finally let go and woke up in Shelby's embrace and for the first time he saw her as an indivual, not as one who cost him his closest people.
They finally cought up to what the rebellion has been doing and Shelby was happy to be back by Amber and the others but also to have gained a new friend who acknowledges her for who she is. Though this experience didn't ease lie for her in the future. In the adventures it quickly shows just how unexperienced she is in comparison to the others and how clumsy she is at times. It quickly lead to her becoming unsure in her own abilities. The memories of her being seen as an object of despair by Paulus in the past start to haunt her too, making it even more difficult for her to keep her composure and making through the day.
One day an enormous fight broke out within the rebellion, causing for Shelby to depart as she starts to blame herself internally even though Paulus calls out for her presence among the chaos. She runs and runs until she found refugee in the high mountains where she meets upon the only who she can possibly call her kind: The Griffin.
While The Griffin is at first annoyed by her prsence so is he curious. It's been so many summonings ago since he saw the last time one of his kind. And so they talk and wander through the area. They talk about concepts of life and views upon the life living on earth and quickly it shows that her views contrast the one of the Griffin. She sees the world in all of its colors and sees the living as those who they are, not a collective as The Grffin does. She apprecciates every small pebble while he struggles to even acknowledge a tree's existence. They find company in one another and she starts to miss those from whom she departed.
Appearance
Shelby is a small griffin. Her bird part has the appearance of a blue tit and her cat part the appearance of a small lion cub. She has small round feathers on top of her head which represent ears as usual by griffins. Her tail is a stub as she is still small and therefore not really developed yet. Her paws and claws aren't really grown out yet nor is her beak.
She is a very round ball of floof. Her shape language is soft and there are only little amount of edges in her silhouette.
Power
Her power is the one which comes with her joy. She has the power of change.
Relationship
Paulus
Their start was rough as her existence cost the two most beloved people of Paulus. Though once Paulus came to terms with them being gone they started to develop a genuine friendship. Through her his joy returns to him. He teaches her the concepts and ideals they have among the rebellion. They now travel through the lost lands together and bring justice there were is none.
The Griffin
Together they have a parent child connection.
