Maria
One of the strongest born mages who turned her back towards those roots in order to carve her own path. She is a stubborn one who pursues her goals without interruption.
Story
Maria was born as the heir of the Archangel's throne and thereby also as the next Mother of the fallen lands. But eventually she came to reject the idea and role of becoming the next Mother as she developed an interest to explore the world of the fallen lands and all its diversities. And so she ran away on one clear night and found refugee in a Löwenherz kingdom. There she met upon Paulus, Amber and many other diverse people, who in the end not only satisfy her curiosity but also open her to new perspectives and ideas.
During the run away arc, where the duo finds refugee under Mathew's wing, she becomes the first student of Mathew, who teached her the strength of the physical body and showed her the wonders of the world outside of magic.
She and Leon later give up their physical forms in order to summon Shelby in order to counter the Mother's griffin summoning.
Appearance
Maria is a not fully developed harpy of a blue bird. Her hair is a mix out of blue and yellow as usual for a blue tit. Small round feathers grow out of the place where usually ears find their place. A small thin scar finds a place on her left face side above her left eye. Her feet and legs are covered in bandages as she tries to hide her Archangel's heritage. The rest of her attire consist of sporty clothes which allow free and clean movements. Her glove hides a sigil which marks her as an object of the Archangel.
Power
She is an incredible strong damaging unit. As the born heir to the Archangle's throne she has an incredible amount of magical power and through the training of Mathew she gained an appreciation for physical strength. Now she combines both in order to deal enormous amount of damage towards those who hinder her in her path.
Relationship
Paulus
Their siblinghood is indescrible to anyone meeting upon them, even if they are not related by blood. Their dynamic is strong and healthy, while also being very flexible. Maria will always have his back and Paul hers. As he hides their presence in fights she deals the unexpected blow of damage onto the enemies. But even outside of constructs of any kind they meet one another on eye level, always helping each other.
At the very start they met on odd terms. On Maria's first day of school she and Paulus were both being picked on by Leon and attended the same classes together. They both came from very different housholds with very different perpectives on the world, though they both had the same goal: Show the monarchy system the middle finger. Maria was taken in by Paul's family as she was considered an orphan and her identity was not yet exposed. From there on they would accompany eachother through every adventure.
Maria's death left Paulus wounded for life. But even wounds heal to a certain degree, in this case by acknowledging Shelby's existence. Found family always prevails.
Amber
They start of as rivals, while slowly becoming friends. Though even after all adventures they still tease one another about ideologies and expressions.
Leon
Complicated relationship. Maria never dared to approach him herself and kept doubting him even after his full on redemption. It hurt Paulus deeply as both were his most beloved people. Leon did his best to comply to her suspicions but struggled to keep it together after a while. They have a heartful discussions and get to know through it eachother. Both come from royal households after all and know the pain of it.
